Riverside CARES Plus is hosting their annual conference on Saturday, April 28, 2012 at UC Riverside Extension Center in Riverside, CA!!
The focus of this year’s conference is “Celebrating the Relationships of Childhood.” Througout the years, the Celebrating Children’s Conference has provided an array of resources, support services, and academic courses to various caregivers including Parents/Guardians, Family Child Care Providers, Center-Base, Foster, Kinship, Administrators and Early Care Investors.
This one day event will provide caregivers at every level the opportunity to attend and participate in a varity of fun and creative workshops that will provide early caregivers with updated information to help enhance the quaility of care provided to all children and families served! The conference also provides academic credit and professional growth for all eligible participants!!

Riverside County WIC (Women, Infants & Children) program is helping pregnant women, new mothers and young children eat healthy, stay well, and be active. This program is funded by the U.S. Department of Agriculture and has collaborated with Riverside County Department of Public Health to assist families to grow and trive within their communities.
There are 19 WIC service agencies located throughout Riverside County. They are open Monday through Friday and evening and Saturday services are provided by scheduling an appointment.
Services offered include, but are not limited to . . .
- On-line educational trainings
- Receipes for healthy cooking
- Food checks for purchasing nutritious items
- Breastfeeding education and counseling services
- Resources and services provided within your community

California Preschool Instructional Nework (CPIN) is offering training at the KidsNCare office in San Bernardino, CA!!
The training topic for this day is called “Cooking Up Conversations” This training will provide a quick overview of Language and Literacy and it’s three strands. Also the training will provide research base findings along with several fun, teacher friendly, easy to implement strategies for promiting oral language.
