The Forum for Professional Development will be held in Pasadena, CA and will be sponsored by CAEYC!
The focus this year will be “Creating Partnerships with Families and Communities.” This two day even offers caregives the time and space to reflect, listen, and ask questions. Caregives will gain new knowledge, ideas, and work with professionals to assist with improving the quality of care provided to the children and families within your local communities.
Space is Limited! Advanced registration is on or prior to Friday, September 30, 2011. A late registration fee of $50 will be charged after September 30.
Online registration is for credit card payments only (Visa or MasterCard). If paying by check or purchase order, please download the registration form and either fax or mail it to CAEYC.
Registration rates include refreshments and lunch for each day registered.

California State University San Bernardino (CSUSB) is hosting a FREE DisAbility Sports Festival on Saturday, October 1, 2011.
The DisAbility Sports Festival is designed for people of all ages and disabilities to learn and participate in 15 different sports taught by experienced athletes and coaches.
This day of activities will include:
- Motor Skills Gym
- Track and Field
- Tennis
- Swimming
- Wall Climbing
- Beep Baseball
- Wheelchair
- Many more creative activities!

County of San Bernardino Superintendent of Schools, KidsNCare program will be hosting the Child Care Directors; Meeting in San Bernardino, CA!!
The training topic offered is called “CLASS (Classroom Assessment Scoring Sytem) Overview.”
The CLASS is an obervation tool used to measure quality instruction in the classroom. The presentation will focus on specific dimensions for the measurement. Video clips and activities will help caregivers recognize positive classroom interactions.
The Presenter is Melissa Holcombe who is a CLASS Observer, Trainer and Coach

UC Davis, Extension Family Child Care at Its Best is offering CSEFEL Module 2 training to eligible Early Child Care providers in Hemet, California!!
The classes are sponsored by the Center for Excellence in Child Development, UC Davis and is funded by the the Child Development Division of the California Department of Education. The Center for the Social and Emotional Foundations for Early Learning (CSEFEL), has developed a framework focused on promoting children’s social emotional development and reducing challenging behavior in group care. This framework, called the CSEFEL Teaching Pyramid Model, considers ways to teach young children about appropriate behavior from a prevention perspective.
The Module 2 training offered is called “Social Emotional Teaching Strategies”. This two day training assists students with . . .
- Developing friendship skills
- Enhancing children’s emotional literacy, including identifying feelings
- Managing anger and disappointment
- Encouraging children’s problem solving skills
